Small gold powder is sprinkled on the whole body(this technique is called
"Kin"(gold) nashiji"with embedded thick seashells(also called "raden") one by one.
To embed these small shells on a round body is quite a difficult technique.
After this process, a craftsman polishes with charcoal to make surface smooth,
(called "togi-dashi" technique). This is typical motif for traditional Makie artwork.
An autograph on the pen is "To-un( )" who is a Japanese Traditional craftsmen for
Maki-e artwork.
Nib is 18K #3776, many kinds of nib including Music nib can be mounted.
Cap is push-pull style.
